The NYU School of Professional Studies Division of Applied Undergraduate Studies provides internships that enable students to earn credits while gaining valuable academic and/or professional experience. These internships provide you with the opportunity to apply what you’ve learned in class in the working environment. They also help to build your professional network and to expand your skill sets. Internships can be pursued as an alternative to the senior project.

Internship coordinators collaborate with students to secure positions at a variety of commercial entities and nonprofits. Our students have interned at such places as government offices, television networks, museums, health organizations, public relations firms, and media and publishing companies. Examples of just some the companies and organizations where our students are placed include: Newsweek; Morgan Stanley Smith Barney; Merrill Lynch; Sotheby’s; the American Museum of Natural History; the American Red Cross; and media companies, such as NBC Universal, ABC, PBS, and MTV.

McGhee students also have access to the internship resources offered by the NYU Wasserman Center for Career Development and are eligible for its Funded Internship Award, which provides unpaid internships with nonprofits.
