Access Admissions

The 10-month NYU School of Professional Studies (NYUSPS) Access program is designed to meet the needs of graduating high school seniors who want to sharpen their academic and career-focused skills, while deciding what comes next. For those who may not be ready to take a more traditional path to a college education, this unique learning opportunity allows them to increase their readiness for college and/or the workforce through a curated set of courses. Students have the chance to explore a professional field of their choosing and enhance core academic competencies such as data literacy and written and verbal communication. Cohort-based advisories led by an academic coach support students’ program success and help them to navigate the exciting transition that lies ahead.

Upon successful completion of the Access program, students will have earned 30 college credits.

*Full and partial scholarships, as well as other financial aid are available based upon demonstrated financial need. To be eligible, applicants must submit a FAFSA.

NYUSPS Access provides students with a distinctive, comprehensive programmatic experience that includes small classes led by scholars and industry experts, rigorous academic curricula, robust academic advising, and personalized college and career coaching. Students also benefit from professional development workshops on topics such as time management, decision-making, and preparing for the job market.

Upon joining NYUSPS Access, students also are conditionally admitted into their choice of an associate's degree program in Business, Health Administration, or Information Systems Management. Those who are in good academic standing at the end of the NYUSPS Access program will have the option to continue their studies and complete their associate’s degree through the NYUSPS Division of Applied Undergraduate Studies.

Classes are held Friday (afternoons) and Saturday (mornings and afternoons).

To apply, you must be a high school senior scheduled to graduate in Spring 2018, and you must live in the NYC metropolitan area. NYUSPS Access is a non-residential program.

You must submit an application, an official high school transcript, two letters of recommendation (preferably one from your guidance counselor and one from a subject-area teacher) and complete short answer questions.
